ANGELES O DEMONIOS, QUIENES HACEN LA HISTORIA?

Mi bella Habana con ángeles y demonios gracias a Tomas Sanchez. Sugestiva obra pictórica del artista cubano. Mágica visión de una ciudad que se deshace día a día por obra y gracia del mas inútil e insano aferramiento al poder de una secta politica que ya hace mas de 20 agnos  cumplio su rol histórico, y podía haberse retirado a tiempo con cierto decoro. Después, solo se ha dedicado a detener el avance del país, silenciar las voces que claman por cambios,  clausurar todas las libertades ciudadanas, y promover la decadencia y la desolacion de la isla, como resultado de una emigración incesante de miles de buenos cubanos que preferirían trabajar y vivir en la tierra que los vio nacer. Ya decía Martí sabiamente, que cuando un pueblo emigra, hay que buscar las razones en el mal gobierno que se ejerce sobre ese pueblo. Demasiado alto el precio que paga el pueblo de Cuba por toda la neurosis política en que ha vivido por largo tiempo. La historia juzgara  duramente por todo esto a esa casta aferrada al poder, pero ya para ese entonces, el país estará irreversiblemente arruinado física y moralmente. Los responsables estarán ya fuera del alcance de la justicia, ellos finalmente habrán vivido y disfrutado de los privilegios de su posición política, y algunos hasta habrán puesto sus posesiones en lugar seguro, como paso ya en los países exsocialistas de Europa del este. 

La mas gráfica y deprimente imagen de este posible escenario del futuro de Cuba, se me represento una vez que vi en una entrevista, cuando le preguntaron a Fidel sobre que el pensaba seria de Cuba después de su muerte y el respondió con sarcasmo: "eso es tarea de los que vengan después, de los que estén en el gobierno para ese entonces". Moraleja, a el ni siquiera le importa el futuro de Cuba,  el mensaje es el mismo de un emperador romano, "después de mi, el diluvio". En aquel entonces pensé, a este hombre lo único que le interesa es mantener su poder a toda costa, el posiblemente piensa: cuando me muera si dejo el país hundido,  pues mejor, de todas formas como dice el refrán popular cubano, " si van a hablar mal de mi, pues que hablen con razón". Entonces habría que preguntarle a Tomas Sanchez quienes son, para bien o para mal, los protagonistas de su historia, los ángeles o los demonios? En mi historia, la que yo imagino, la respuesta es bastante obvia.

Angels or demons, who make history?

My beautiful Havana with angels and demons by Tomas Sanchez. Suggestive paintings by Cuban artist. Magical vision of a city falling apart every day by the grace of the most useless and unhealthy grip on power of a political sect already over 20 Agnos fulfilled its historical role, and a long time ago could have retired with some decorum. But instead they have been breaking the advance of the country, silence voices calling for change, closing all liberties, and promoting decay and desolation of the island, as a result of incessant emigration of thousands of good Cubans who would prefer to work and live in the land of their birth. It wisely Marti said that when people migrate, look for the reasons in the bad government exercised over the people. Too high the price paid by the people of Cuba for all political neurosis that has lived for a long time. History will judge harshly for all this to that breed clinging to power, but at that times, the country will be irreversibly physically and morally ruined. Those responsible will be beyond the reach of justice, they finally have lived and enjoyed the privileges of his political position, and some even have put their possessions in a safe place, as it already happened in the former socialist countries of Eastern Europe.

I had the most graphic and depressing picture of this possible scenario of the future of Cuba when I saw once in an interview when Fidel answered a question about the Cuban future  after his death. Then, he said sarcastically: "That is the task of those who come after, those in the government at that time. " Clearly, he proved that he did not even care the future of Cuba, the message is the same as a Roman emperor, "After me, the deluge." Back then I thought, this man is only interested in maintaining their power at all costs, possibly he was thinking: when I die if I leave the country sunk, even better, however as Cuban popular saying goes, "if they will to speak ill of me, better they speak with reason. " Then have to ask Tomas Sanchez who are, for better or for worse, the protagonists of their history, angels or demons? In my story, I guess, the answer is pretty obvious.
