Es un chiste y me rio, pero con cierta amargura, pues pienso que en la politica cubana impera la ridiculez, la inconsistencia, el cinismo, y el oportunismo. Hay que tener poca verguenza para seguir instalados en el poder despues de 56 agnos y, ademas, pretender ahora que de verdad quieren algo bueno para Cuba. Por supuesto que la mayoria que queremos al pais nos alegramos del fin del enfrentamiento entre ambas naciones vecinas, pero no de que, aquellos que lo han arruinado quieran hacer creer que ellos son buenos y buscan el bien de los cubanos. Obama parece querer y respetar mas a los cubanos que estos decrepitos y cinicos dictadores-militarotes. Y todavia Raul Castro se atreve a usar traje militar para su discurso, como advirtiendo: ahora hacemos esto porque nos da la gana, no fue una eleccion del pueblo. Es decir, una vez mas, no fue una decision democrática, es la voluntad del monarca. Pero asi es la política cubana, ahora ellos tratan de convertir lo que es su "necesidad en virtud".
Ironicamente, la oposicion cubana tuvo siempre en su platforma de demandas la normalizacion de relaciones con EU (vease, por ejemplo, el proyecto que defendio Osvaldo Paya). Y esa posicion les debe haber costado a muchos carcel y represion. Uno de los argumentos favoritos del regimen para tambien desacreditarlos fue acusarlos de "aliados del imperialismo". Sin embargo, ahora es Raul Castro el que se lleva el merito de haber realizado el deseo de millones de cubanos, que vieron sus familias divididas y rotas por medio siglo. Ahora ellos decidieron aliarse al "imperialismo" y hay que aplaudirlos. Ironias de la historia.
Y por cierto, hasta ahora, todo parece una victoria pirrica, los"heroes" de regreso a casita. No creo que haya muchas mas buenas noticias para los cubanos de la isla.

It is a joke and I laugh, but with some bitterness, because I think in Cuban politics prevails ridiculous, inconsistency, cynicism and opportunism. Keep little ashamed to follow installed in power after 56 years and, further, claiming that now the Cuban government really wants something good for Cuba. Of course, those who loves the country are happy for the end of the confrontation between the two neighboring nations, but we don't believe that those who have ruined Cuba are sincerely seeking the Cubans' welfare. Obama seems to love and respect more Cubans that these decrepit and cynical military-dictators. Over more, Raul Castro still dare to use military outfit for his speech, as warning: now we do this because we want to, but it was not a choice of the people. Once again, it was not a democratic decision, it was the will of the monarch. But so is the Cuban politics, now they try to turn what is the "need for them in virtue."
Ironically, the Cuban opposition, always had in his platform demands for the normalization of relations with EU, something that must have cost them many jail and repression. One of the favorite arguments of the regime to discredit was also accuse them of "allies" of imperialism. However, now Raul Castro got the merit of having made the desire of millions of Cubans who saw their families divided and broken by century takes. Now they decided to ally "imperialism" and we have to applaud it. Ironies of history.
And indeed, so far, everything looks like a Pyrrhic victory, the "heroes" back to house. I do not think there will be many more good news for Cubans on the island.
